1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TagalogNow (the “Services”) — our website at tagalognow.com and our iOS and Android apps — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use the Services.

For the iOS app, these Terms are your end-user license agreement. They incorporate Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA conflict, the stricter term applies. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Services. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Your Data and Device

TagalogNow does not require you to create an account. Your learning progress, flashcards, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device, not on our servers. You are responsible for your device and for keeping your own backups; the app provides an export feature for this, and deleting the app will erase its on-device data. Premium entitlements are tied to your Apple App Store or Google Play account and can be restored using “Restore Purchases”.

4. License to Use the Services

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use TagalogNow for your own personal, non-commercial language learning. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, reverse-engineer, scrape, or create derivative works from the Services or their content, except where permitted by law.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

TagalogNow offers an optional premium subscription that unlocks the full curriculum and additional features. A free tier remains available without payment.

  • Plans. Premium is offered as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region. Some plans include a free trial; the trial length is shown at the point of purchase.
  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. All payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never receive your payment-card details.
  • Auto-renewal. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trials. If your plan includes a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Starting a paid subscription before a trial ends forfeits any remaining trial.
  • Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds. Subscriptions are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law or by Apple’s or Google’s policies. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies, not by us.
  • Lifetime purchase. A lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-refundable purchase (except as required by store policy or law) that grants premium access for as long as the app is offered.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes. You will not interfere with their operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use them in a way that infringes the rights of others or restricts their use of the Services.

7. Intellectual Property

The Services and their content — including text, lessons, dictionary entries, audio, graphics, logos, and software — are owned by TagalogNow or its licensors and are protected by United Kingdom and international copyright and other laws. We grant you no rights to this content except the limited license in Section 4.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the content — including dictionary definitions, translations, pronunciations, and lesson material — is accurate, complete, or error-free, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or secure. The Services are a learning aid, not professional or certified language instruction.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TagalogNow’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TagalogNow from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time by deleting the app. The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
