Usage Note
Luneta, officially Rizal Park, is the most historically significant public park in Manila and the Philippines. It is where national hero Jose Rizal was executed in 1896. The name comes from the Spanish word for 'small moon' (luneta), referring to the old crescent-shaped fortification there. It is a gathering point for national celebrations and protests.
