Atmospera is borrowed from Spanish atmósfera and is used both in the scientific sense of the Earth's gaseous envelope and figuratively to describe the mood or feel of a place or event. In everyday speech, Filipinos often use it to describe the ambiance of a restaurant, party, or gathering.
