Usage Note

Tingting refers to the thin, stiff central rib stripped from a coconut or palm leaf. Bundled together, they form the traditional Filipino walis tingting (broom), one of the most recognizable household tools in the Philippines. The word is nearly inseparable from its most common application as the material for this everyday broom.
