Ilocos is the administrative region on the northwestern coast of Luzon, divided into Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. Known for its UNESCO-listed Baroque churches, empanada, bagnet, and the Ilocano people's reputation for frugality and industriousness, it is also the birthplace of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
