Usage Note

Niño, short for Santo Niño, refers to the image of the child Jesus venerated throughout the Philippines. The Santo Niño de Cebú is one of the oldest and most important Catholic relics in the country, and the feast of the Santo Niño is celebrated every January with the Sinulog festival in Cebu. The image is found in nearly every Filipino Catholic home.
