dalos
dalós with stress marks
rash; reckless haste
Usage Note
Dalos describes the quality of acting too quickly without thinking — impulsiveness leading to mistakes. It is used as a warning or gentle rebuke, especially from elders to youth: 'huwag kang mabitin at madalos' (don't be hasty and reckless). The trait is culturally frowned upon as it conflicts with the value of careful deliberation.
