Usage Note
Ensaymada is derived from the Majorcan Spanish pastry ensaïmada but the Filipino version is a soft, buttery, spiral-shaped bun topped generously with butter, sugar, and grated cheese. It is a beloved merienda and pasalubong especially associated with the holiday season.
