Usage Note
Kapulungan is a formal Filipino term for a legislative assembly or official deliberative body, derived from pulong. It appears in government names such as Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawan and in official meeting language. It is rarely used in casual conversation, where pulong or miting serves instead, and carries a distinctly institutional register.
