Usage Note

Labahan is derived from the root 'labá' (to do laundry) and refers to a designated laundry area or washing tub. In many Filipino homes, particularly older ones, a concrete labahan is built into the outdoor or utility area for hand-washing clothes. The term is also used loosely for any laundry-related space.
