Usage Note

Soltero comes from the Spanish word for an unmarried man and describes a bachelor who has remained single into middle age or beyond. Older generations may attach some social expectation to the label, but younger Filipinos often treat it more neutrally or with humor. The feminine counterpart is soltera.
