Usage Note
Takon is the native Tagalog term for a billiard cue stick. Billiards (locally called 'bilyar') is enormously popular in the Philippines across all social classes, making this word well understood even if the Spanish-derived 'taco' (borrowed directly into Filipino) is also widely used. In some provinces, takon may also refer to a long stick used as a tool.
