Usage Note
Salya describes the forceful act of hoisting and hurling something or someone — like tossing a large object or a wrestling throw. It appears in folk literature and martial arts contexts and conveys raw physical power. It is used more in literary and regional speech than in everyday Metro Manila Tagalog.
