Usage Note

Taranta describes being flustered, confused, or panicked — losing one's composure under pressure. It is a lively, colloquial word used when someone is rattled by unexpected events. Nagtaranta is often used humorously to describe overreaction: nagtaranta siya nang marinig ang balita (he panicked when he heard the news).
