Ilokana refers specifically to a woman of Ilokano heritage — the feminine counterpart to Ilokano, which designates the ethnolinguistic group native to the Ilocos region and parts of the Cagayan Valley. Ilokanos are the third-largest ethnolinguistic group in the Philippines and have one of the most widely distributed diaspora communities; Ilokana can be used as both a noun and an adjective.
