Usage Note
Gobernadora, from Spanish gobernadora, is the feminine form for a female provincial governor. While gobernador tends to serve as the default form in everyday speech regardless of gender, gobernadora is used in formal titles and media coverage to recognize women in the office explicitly. Gobernador is the masculine counterpart.
