Usage Note

Habagat is the southwest monsoon wind that brings the Philippine rainy season, roughly June through October. Together with amihan (the northeast wind), habagat defines the two dominant seasons of the Philippine climate cycle, and the term is regularly used in weather bulletins and farming calendars.
