Usage Note
Ingrata, from Spanish ingrata, describes a woman who shows no gratitude for kindness or help given to her. The accusation carries particular weight in Filipino culture because of utang na loob — the deep obligation to acknowledge and return goodwill. Ingrato is the masculine form and carries the same moral force.
