female hypocrite

noun adjective i-po-kri-TA Spanish origin Less Common

Usage Note

Ipokrita is a Spanish loanword from hipócrita and is the gender-neutral or feminine form used to call out a woman — or anyone — who says one thing and does another. It reflects the Spanish pattern where the feminine form sometimes doubles as the unmarked form in Filipino. Ipokrito is the explicitly masculine counterpart.
