Ganoon is the distal manner demonstrative — gaya + niyon — describing a way of being or doing that matches something far from the speaker or previously mentioned. It is the everyday colloquial form; the more formal and literary counterpart is gayon. Both appear in spoken and written Filipino, with ganoon dominant in casual registers.
