Usage Note
Sampu is the native Tagalog word for ten and is connected to a following noun using the linker -ng, as in 'sampung piso' (ten pesos). It also serves as the root for forming higher multiples of ten, such as dalawampu (twenty) and tatlumpu (thirty).
