Usage Note

Yantok refers to a type of rattan cane or thin stick, and by extension to the act of being struck with such a cane. Historically, yantok was associated with corporal punishment in Philippine schools and homes. It is also used as a training weapon in Arnis (Filipino martial arts), where paired rattan sticks are the primary implements of sparring.
