Usage Note
Alpombra comes from Spanish alfombra and refers to a carpet or area rug. Carpets are not traditional in Filipino homes due to the warm, humid climate, but alpombra are found in air-conditioned homes, hotels, and offices, and are considered a marker of a more Western or formal interior.
