Usage Note
Apulid is the Philippine water chestnut, a wetland plant whose corms are eaten as a snack or used in cooking. It grows in shallow freshwater and was historically an important food source in rural communities. Less common in urban markets today, it is still found in provincial areas and traditional Filipino dishes.
