Usage Note

Bilad describes the act of sun-drying — laying food, clothing, or other items out in the sun. In Filipino households, sun-drying fish ('bilad na isda'), copra, and palay is a traditional preservation method. 'Nagbibilad' (sun-drying) is a common domestic and agricultural activity, especially in rural areas.
