Usage Note
Hintuturo is the standard Tagalog term for the index or forefinger, literally 'the finger that points'. In Filipino culture, pointing with the index finger directly at a person is considered rude; pursing the lips (nguso) or using the hand with palm down is the polite way to indicate direction.
