Usage Note
Konsehal is a Spanish loanword (from concejal) referring to an elected member of a local government unit council — the Sangguniang Bayan or Sangguniang Panlungsod. It is one of the most commonly contested local government positions in the Philippines, with up to twelve seats per municipality.
