suplada
supláda with stress marks
a snobbish or unfriendly woman
Usage Note
Suplada (feminine form; masculine is suplado) is borrowed from Spanish and describes a woman who is aloof, conceited, or dismissive of others — particularly perceived as too proud to engage warmly. In Filipino social culture, where warmth and sociability are prized, being called suplada is a significant criticism. The label is sometimes applied unfairly to introverted or reserved women.
