Usage Note
Supling refers to the young or offspring of a person, animal, or plant — and can even denote a figurative descendant of an idea or lineage. It is used in both literal biological contexts and literary or elevated speech when discussing heritage, legacy, or the continuation of a tradition. It is more formal or poetic than anak (child).
