Usage Note

Yari is versatile: it can describe what something is made of ('yari sa kahoy' — made of wood), indicate completion of a task, or colloquially signal that someone is in serious trouble or that something is finished/ruined. The colloquial sense ('yari ka' — you're done for) is common in informal speech.
