Aratiles (Muntingia calabura) is a small, sweet red or yellow fruit that grows on roadside trees common throughout the Philippines. It is a beloved childhood snack eaten straight from the tree, especially in rural and suburban areas. Though rarely sold commercially, it evokes strong nostalgia for many Filipinos who ate it as children.
