Usage Note
Despuwes, from Spanish después (after, afterwards), is a common connective adverb in everyday Tagalog speech used to indicate sequence or consequence. It is interchangeable with pagkatapos in many contexts but carries a slightly more casual register and is very frequently heard in conversational Tagalog, especially in storytelling.
