Usage Note
Historya is borrowed from Spanish 'historia' and is used interchangeably with the native 'kasaysayan' (history). In casual conversation, 'historya' often also means a story or narrative — 'anong historya iyon?' (what's that story/situation?). The dual meaning makes it a versatile word in both formal and informal registers.
