susmaryosép with stress marks

expression of surprise or dislike; "Jesus, Mary & Joseph!"

interjection sus-ma-ryo-SEP Compound origin Less Common

Usage Note

Susmaryosep is a compressed invocation of the Holy Family — Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (Hesus, Maria, Jose) — used as an exclamation of shock, disgust, or exasperation. It is softened profanity, considered milder than outright cursing, and is used across generations. Older Filipinos use it frequently; younger speakers often find it charmingly old-fashioned.
