Usage Note

Tarantado is a strong pejorative derived from Spanish tarantado (bewildered, reckless). In Filipino use it describes someone who acts without conscience, decency, or regard for others — shameless and unscrupulous. It is considered a mild to moderate insult and is used in heated arguments or comedic exasperation rather than formal contexts.
