Usage Note
Kris (also spelled kalis) is a traditional asymmetrical dagger with a distinctive wavy blade, originating in the Malay world and found throughout maritime Southeast Asia. Among Moro peoples of the Philippines it carries deep cultural, spiritual, and martial significance, and is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
