Usage Note

Limot is the root for forgetting and surfaces most often in the verbs makalimot (to forget involuntarily) and kalimutan (to intentionally put something out of mind). The distinction matters: makalimot implies a slip, while kalimutan carries the weight of a deliberate choice to let go.
