sambit
sambít with stress marks
to mention or say in passing
Usage Note
Sambit describes a casual or incidental mention — bringing up a name or topic without making it the focus of conversation. 'Sinabi' would be a deliberate statement, but 'sinambít' implies it was dropped lightly in passing. It is used in narratives and formal writing to convey that something was mentioned almost in passing.
